Listen to yourself and choose the time that suits you and continue at the same time every day. Particularly favorable time for meditation is the morning (especially before sunrise), it is a quiet and peaceful hour. By clearing and calming the mind you define your whole day. Also at night (sunset or just before going to bed) is a good time.
Choose a place that will not bother you, you will not feel vulnerable or distracted. Try to use the same place every day. Make your own space. You can fill it with candles, flowers and anything else that is encouraging, calming, inspiring. Sit on a pillow, rug made of natural fibers or, if necessary, in a chair chosen for this purpose.
Whatever meditation you choose to do, to get the most benefit, fully commit to doing it for a certain amount of time and for a specific duration each day. Keep in mind that 3 minutes a day is more effective than 31 minutes once a week. If you miss a day, do not whip yourself, just start again!
Do you have a clear idea of what the outcome of this meditation will be for you? Why did you choose to do it? The clearer your focus and intention, the more power there is behind meditation. You receive what you project, so you display the result.
The science of yoga says that specific intervals are needed for certain desired results in meditation. Thus, meditations are done for a specific period of time.
3 minutes: Affects blood circulation and electromagnetic field.
11 minutes: Changes the endocrine system and nerves.
22 minutes: Balances and coordinates the mind.
31 minutes: Affects all cells, body rhythms and all levels of mind projections.
62 minutes: Changes the gray matter of the brain. It incorporates the subconscious “shadow mind” and the external projection.
2 ½ hours: Establishes the new pattern in the subconscious mind through the universal mind.
Commitment to a personal practice makes the meditation process a journey of self-discovery. To “own” the results of a meditation, practice daily with self-discipline. This will develop a life-promoting habit. Our habits control us so much that it is said that we can really change our destiny by changing our habits. We can use different cycles to help and replace our unwanted patterns of behavior with new, more positive ones.
Choose a meditation that suits your goals and / or inspires you and commit to practicing it for 40, 90, 120 or 1,000 days.
40 days: Change a habit.
90 days: Confirm the habit.
120 days: You are the new habit.
1,000 days: You are the masters of the new habit.
